The Me That's Not Quite Seen

Tomasa Meza

Working on this project caused me to feel both exposed and exhilarated. I have to look and understand my insecurities and experiences to create the person I know myself to be and the person people perceive me as. It made me question if there was some truth in how others saw me and why few people rarely see the real me. My artwork is an exploration of my mind and demonstrates what I contain within, aspects of myself that are key to my character and mood. There are so many things about me people would never expect such as how I have different laughs each more ridiculous than the other, sometimes it sounds like a car starting up, a duck quacking, or even a Disney villain. This is one thing people wouldn’t perceive about me but is an important feature, and I want to show people this in my work.
